What to Expect During an HVAC Service Visit

When the technician arrives, they will begin by talking with you about what has been happening. There is no sales presentation and no expectation that you provide a technical explanation. You do not need to know exactly what is wrong. Simply describe what you have noticed in your own words, show them where the equipment is located, and ask any questions you have before they begin.

The information you shared while setting up the appointment carries through to the service visit. The technician can review the notes from our office and, if we have worked at your home before, look at previous service history and notes about your system. This gives them useful background while still taking the time to listen to what you are experiencing now.

From there, the technician will evaluate the equipment and investigate the problem. Depending on the system and symptoms, they may need to check the thermostat, indoor or outdoor equipment, electrical components, airflow, temperatures, controls, or other parts of the system. They will work carefully in your home and keep you informed as the visit progresses.

Once the problem is understood well enough to make a recommendation, the technician will explain what they found in plain language and answer your questions. If a repair is needed, you will know the price before the work begins and can decide how you would like to proceed. If there is uncertainty or if the system deserves a repair-versus-replace conversation, we will explain the options clearly so you can make an informed decision.
